Los Angeles Pierce College
I began my post secondary education at Los Angeles Pierce College. Studies included Environmental Science, Welding, and a list of pre-requisites to transfer to a four year university. I was in the TAP (Transfer Alliance Program) Honors Program for transfer to UCLA, but moved to Canada before finishing the program.
2016
GED
In 2016 I earned my GED, as the 9th grade was the highest level of education I had completed. Even so, in the years after high school, I published multiple articles, and ran my own businesses, first as a dressage rider, trainer and teacher, and then as a writer.

Dressage
Dressage was the focus of most of my adult life. This was an odd career choice, as no one in my family rode horses, and financially it was not a sustainable activity. This was not an easy undertaking. My riding path took me from Vancouver, B.C. to California where I trained horses and taught lessons through the FEI levels. I presented mares, in hand and under saddle, as well as training stallions for warmblood breed inspections. I worked in breeding and showing/training stables.

As I found out while pursuing my undergraduate degree, this body of work gave me a high level of knowledge in human/non-human interactions, health and safety, and rural spaces, as well as hands on, lived experience in many of the most relevant questions facing geographers across the world today. Please visit the TiNY blog for horse tales which will be found under the upcoming heading: The Black Knight.
